Q & A

What are the decals made of?

Our decals go through a tough process, called DTF printing. Think of DTF (Direct to Film) as planting a magical flower garden on your fabric! Your design starts as a tiny digital seed, which gets planted onto a special film (let’s call it the greenhouse film). Just like how a sunflower follows the sun, this film carries your blooming design to its next home – the transfer paper patch. And the best part is our designs can be ironed on all types and colors of fabrics, unlike traditional decals without coming off after a couple of washes.

Will the colors stay true?

They’re more vibrant than a butterfly garden after spring rain! The durability is tougher than those stubborn dandelions in your backyard that survive everything you throw at them! Their made to last the life of the garment with hundreds of washes.

The process is like garden magic:

1. Plant your design seed on the film (no watering needed!)

2. Transplant it to the transfer paper garden bed

3. Place parchment paper ontop of design and press it down like you’re tucking in your prized roses for the night, but more firmly than that actually… (place firm pressure, rather than moving iron around in circles) Several times may be needed.

4. When finished ironing and let cool, then repeat one more final press to cure

And there you have it – your design blooms permanently on the fabric, no green thumb required! Huh, see what I did there…

What fabrics can I put my decals on?

Just like how flowers can grow in different soils, DTF printing spreads its petals across:

Your designs can bloom on everything from humble garden-variety t-shirts to fancy-pants sportswear. It’s like having a magic watering can that makes your artwork sprout on hats, bags, sweatshirts, and promotional goodies, yay!

What are the iron or press heat settings?

Once you’ve ironed those glorious buds, set your iron to highest cotton setting with no steam. You may need to press several times for proper adhesion and use that grit, firmly. But don’t burn it.

Heat settings:

Position-

Take your time and line up your blooming decal(s) on the desired print area of your apparel. To ensure your transfer doesn’t move while ironing it onto the garment, use our heat resistant tape that we included for ya!

Iron-

If you don’t have a heat press than a traditional household iron will also work. Most household irons tested with a heat gun reach the required heat at #4 setting. Always test yours, as they can vary. Best practice is to match your heat setting with the material you are using. If that is not hot enough and the transfer isn’t adhering well than increase it towards cotton/linen setting which is the hotter of the settings. Yet, always make sure it won’t burn your garment. Apply the parchment paper (included) on top of decal before ironing.

Peel off-

Our decals let you peel hot or cool. Wait a few seconds (don’t burn yourself) and peel! If parts of the design are not sticking, lay it back down and press again with added pressure and heat (+10°F). If unsuccessful, increase heat by 10°F increments until it works.

Final Iron/Press

Place the parchment paper over the design and press again for 15 seconds to soften the design, increase that good ole holding power = durability, and remove shine. And like magic, you’ve got something new to wear there cutie!

How do I wash my wearables with decals?

Your lovelies will thank you if you wash them inside out with mild detergent. I know it’s hard but wait to wash them after applying for about 24 hours. This will set the image into the fibers of your apparel. Then, use cold water setting & dry on low heat or hang to dry. You should have a long life together that blooms with new and exciting adventures.

Can stains be removed from garments?

You can spot treat with diluted vinegar or lemon juice which can lift stains without using harsh chemicals. Spot dab areas before gentle wash.

1. Prepare Your Surface

Bless that Surface – When your intuition guides you, cleanse the surface of your treasured item with either pure soap & water or a harmonious blend of rubbing alcohol and water (equal parts dancing together). The purer your canvas, the longer your art will journey through the elements, washing rituals, and life’s beautiful wear. While the sticker will bond without this ritual, this cleansing ceremony is highly recommended.

Make sure to pre-squeegee – Yes, squeegee your decals for easier seperation, before you go further! This is crucial to free your sticker from its boundaries.

2. Envision The Perfect Placement

Begin by deciding your perfect placement area on your special item. For petite designs that are 4 inches & under, you’ll wan to lovingly place the design onto your chosen space with both hands guiding its journey. For more expansive creations that are 6 inches & larger, you may find harmony in placing the sticker beginning from one edge and flowing to the other. This mindful approach helps manifest perfect position, banishes air bubbles, and prevents the carrier sheet from creating unintended patterns or overlapping elements.

3. Preparing Your Decal for Its Transformation Journey

Cut out your design (some find it easier to cut one corner of the decal film). This can make it easier to pull apart the top sheet from its carrier sheet. The clear film may look like there is only one, but it does pull apart. Mindfully separate the two sheets, watching with present awareness as your design lifts onto the top carrier sheet. As wee whisper in our creative sanctuary – “Peel not with hands alone, but with awakened EYES.” For designs with delicate elements like fine lines and petite text, move slowly as you would in a peaceful meditation. If parts resist the journey, re-squeegee from behind with gentle intention, and try again. Now, pull off the carrier sheet and place your design sticky side downward onto its new surface with the front of your decal reaching toward the sky. Using the edge of your magical squeegee card (provided), dance across the entire design with intentional pressure, flowing back and forth 2-4 times. Channel extra loving energy toward delicate elements like tiny floral stems—they may need additional attention.

4. Completing Your Creative Ceremony

After your design has found its home, mindfully squeegee 2-4 more times with firm pressure. Peel away the top clear sheet with slow, intentional movement, watching to ensure all elements transfer their energy. Remember our sacred teaching – use your EYES, not merely your hands. If any part of your design hesitates to transfer, gently replace the carrier sheet, re-squeegee with renewed intention, and try unveiling from a different angle. You can now use as is, or for furnishings you can apply a top clear coat sealer if desired, this is optional.
